Mauna Loa Volcanic Eruption ~ Big Island

After 38 years of slumber -- Pele the Hawaiian Goddess of Fire and Creation finally returns to Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Mauna Loa erupts in spectacular fashion. Here is a collection of my favorite captures. I spent 4 days chasing the best light, riding helicopters and exploring Mauna Kea to snap these images. This eruption only lasted 10 days. Truly a surreal and once in a lifetime experience.
